Partaking of The Divine Nature of Christ

Prophecy is like a light that let's us see into the future. "Like a light that shines in a dark place..." It let's us see what will take place BEFORE it takes. "Prophecy is of no private interpretation for holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." This means that the Bible must its be its own interpreter.

"Behold, the FORMER things are come to pass, and NEW things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them." Isaiah 42:9. History is the former things. Prophecy is the NEW things. History is actually prophecy that has been fulfilled. God is dependable.

"The history which the great I AM has marked out in His Word, uniting link after link in the prophetic chain, from eternity in the past to eternity in the future, tells us where we are today in the procession of the ages, and what may be expected in the time to come." The Faith I Live By, Page 168

“And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them:” Mark 10:32

"Before His crucifixion the Saviour explained to His disciples that He was to be put to death and to rise again from the tomb, and angels were present to impress His words on minds and hearts. But the disciples were looking for temporal deliverance from the Roman yoke, and they could not tolerate the thought that He in whom all their hopes centred should suffer an ignominious death. The words which they needed to remember were banished from their minds; and when the time of trial came, it found them unprepared. The death of Jesus as fully destroyed their hopes as if He had not forewarned them. So in the prophecies the future is opened before us as plainly as it was opened to the disciples by the words of Christ.

Jesus' disciples back then had a misconception of what the Messiah is all about. They at first misinterpreted prophecy. Jesus told them what was going to take place, but they couldn't understand. Today, we're doing the same thing. Many of us do not understand the prophecies, even though they are plainly stated in His Word.

But multitudes have no more understanding of these important truths than if they had never been revealed. Satan watches to catch away every impression that would make them wise unto salvation, and the time of trouble will find them unready." Great Controversy, Page 594

The events connected with the close of probation and the work of preparation for the time of trouble, are clearly presented." “Soon—none know how soon—the judgement will pass to the cases of the living” (GC, 490).This statement takes on a whole new meaning in light of the previous statement. Because she is speaking of time. She said, "the events."So, Sis. white is plainly speaking about events that would take place near the close of probation. The Bible calls it signs...which is the same thing.

The devil desires to shut down this message. Many of the truths that we're discussing in this Advent Bible course may sound strange to you, that's because this has nearly been lost. This present truth is no longer being preached!

Right now according to this chart we're in the preparation stage, and the next event will be the National Sunday Law. So we now need to focus on what is going to happen when the NSL comes, and what we must do NOW to prepare for it.This is where we are today.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:15

We will now find out the antidote for the venomous bite of the serpent referred to in Gen. 3:15.

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall."2 Peter 1:3,4,10

So, the antidote of Gen. 3:15 is to become "partakers of the Divine Nature."

The 2 Peter 1:3,4,10 scripture tells us that we need to make our calling and election sure, so that we may become partakers of the Divine Nature!

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” Jude 24

This shows how we can live sinless lives. It is Jesus in us that will prevent us from falling. The key is to place Christ within. Ellen White says that anyone who comes along and tells you that you cannot have victory over sin, is an agent of satan. In order to successfully approach this sinless state, we have to die to self. Appetite. We must control appetite. When we get control of our appetite we put self on the altar. The reason: We need to get control of our appetite and partake of the Divine nature, so we can receive the Seal of God.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1

Genesis 3:15CENTRAL THEME OF THE BIBLE"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:4This is the Present Truth"Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." 2 peter 1:10"The Saviour took upon Himself the infirmities of humanity and lived a sinless life, that men might have no fear that because of the weakness of human nature they could not overcome. Christ came to make us “partakers of the divine nature,” and His life declares that humanity, combined with divinity, does not commit sin." MH 180.5

The central theme of the Bible is that we become partakers of the Divine Nature. That's the central theme. If you do these things, you will never fall!1 John 3:9"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

“None but those who have been overcoming by the blood of the Lamb (This means victory over sin) and the word of their testimony will be found with the loyal and true, without spot or stain of sin, without guile in their mouths. We must be divested of our self-righteousness and arrayed in the righteousness of Christ." Selected Messages Book 2, Page 380, Paragraph 1 (2SM 380.2)”
