Peabody, Ward, & Harbor Street RevitalizationNorth Shore CDC will begin renovations on the core of our Salem-based portfolio in late 2013. This 77-unit portfolio was initially acquired in the late 1980's as the CDC's first major real estate acquisition. The planned renovation is a complete modernization of the buildings, including weatherization, structural repairs, new roofs & windows, new energy-efficient mechanical systems and historically-accurate renovation of building entrances. As part of the development process, we plan to utilize state and federal historic tax credits in addition to low-income housing tax credits and private debt. The renovation will preserve this critically-needed affordable housing and improve the quality of life for residents.77 Units of Affordable Rental Family HousingX New Residents Supporting Local BusinessNorth Shore CDC I 102 Lafayette Street, Salem, MA I 978.825.8071 I northshorecdc.orgX Construction Jobs

The neighborhood, however, has continued to have a strong sense of community, is home to multi-generational families and has become increasingly diverse with a immigrant population. Holcroft Park Homes, named after a local park at the center of the community, is a neighborhood-wide revitalization project.
